Artist’s statement
Curiosity has brought me here.
Curiosity is what feeds my work.
Spaces are curious. They hold a certain mystery.
Ever since I was a little girl I loved digging holes in the sandbox, always in search of a surprise. There were times when I found nothing, but those few times I found a worm always kept me digging for more. A space can be both tangible and intangible. It can protect as well as expose. It can be precious or it can be threatening. It can project noise or shelter silence. It can be sensed between people and portrayed on form. It can be nothing or it can be everything. Spaces are what I explore in my work. It’s an ongoing exploration of its interaction with colour, texture, and form.
